Novice BP Competition

ADAM 2006 003.jpgEvery year in Semester 2, MUDS hosts a tournament in British Parliamentary style for novice debaters from all around Victoria.
The focus of the tournament is training, so come along to get some BP experience at a competitive level.  The day involves training and debating.  It also is a great chance for non-novices to get some BP adjudication experience. ADAM 2006 020.jpg

The Competition in 2007

This year, following from the success of 2004's inaugural competition, the Melbourne University Debating Society is hosting a Novice BP Debating Competition. This is an event that aims to provide a chance to learn, improve and compete for all novices from Melbourne and Monash. The cross-uni nature of the day provides for more diverse competition than the internal comps could provide. So come along, hone your skills, and give yourself a chance at walking away with the prize!!

Timetable:
Coming soon!
Further Information:
The debates will all be in standard BP format. The debating is only open to novices, and
a strict novice rule is being enforced (can't have been in more than two Hamish Malcolm Cups or equivalents) which means that it's a great opportunity to go up against people with similar levels of experience to yourself, get some experience and have some more debating fun.

For those of you who aren't able to debate because of the novice rule, it's a great opportunity to get some more adjudication practice in and we'd love to have you there.

If interested please RSVP to our training officer, Hugh Sheppard at hapsheppard@gmail.com.

Hope to see you there!
