Public debate
Friday 4 September, 2009
The annual MUDS public debate will be occurring on Tuesday, the 15th of September, arguing the topic: 'That the federal government should take over the public health system.'
As the name implies, this debate is open to the general public, so we'd encourage anyone with even a mild interest to come along. It will be held in the Laby Theatre, in the David Caro Physics Building, which is situated next to the Ian Potter Museum and is just off Swanston St. The debate itself will begin at 6.30pm, so please arrive from 6pm to get a seat.
Speakers include:
Professor Simon Barraclough, School of Public Health, Latrobe University
Dr. James Best, Head of the School of Medicine, University of Melbourne
Professor Thomas Davis, School of Political Science, University of Melbourne
Dr. Michael Walsh, CEO, Cabrini Health
Dr. Chris Wright, Medical Director of the ICU, Monash Medical Centre
Also, the Hamish Malcolm ladder has been updated for round four. Round five plus semi-finals are all happening next Tuesday.
