Open Competition registration open
Saturday 3 October, 2009

In the two weeks following the Hamish Malcolm Cup grand final (which everyone should come to), will be the BP Open Competition. This gives you the opportunity to debate with whomever you'd like (and thanks to a passed amendment, associate members will be able to break this year!), regardless of novice status or other such annoyances. It is also debated with open motions ('That this house would regulate rather than ban', 'That this house believes in intervention over appeasement', etc.), giving the Opening Government an enormous scope to frame the debate in whatever crazy way they wish. So register now - you only need teams of two!

"If one looks with a cold eye at the mess man has made of history, it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that he has been afflicted by some built-in mental disorder which drives him towards self-destruction." - Arthur Koestler
