Novice competition round three / Adjudication training
Friday 26 March, 2010

Come along at 5.30pm this Tuesday night for an introduction to adjudicating university debates, presented by our president, Monique. Whilst this is probably of most value to those adjudicating at Easters this year, the ability to adjudicate debates at a university level is an important skill - it means more opportunities for schools training jobs; makes you more likely to be able to attend intervarsity tournaments such as Australs and Worlds; is important for our internal competitions later this semester; and if you adjudicate the DAV Schools Competition, it can assist with that as well.

Following this initial training (around 6.15pm), there will be two choices: if you are not yet accredited as a DAV adjudicator and would like to be (allowing you to take part in the Schools Competition, where adjudicators are paid $44 a night), we will be running a session for this immediately afterwards. Otherwise, you can participate in the last round of our novice competition. Remember, if you'd like to debate, all you need to do is turn up on the night, and we'll put you in a team. Once again, those debating at Easters are encouraged to attend in order to get more practice with their teams.
