3-on-3 Internal Competition registration open
Thursday 1 April, 2010
Beginning on Tuesday 13th of April (our first meeting following the Easter break), the MUDS 3-on-3 internal competition is our primary internal competition for semester one. It will consist of five rounds of debates, plus semi-finals and a grand final, to occur on the following dates:
• Round one: 13th of April
• Round two: 20th of April
• Round three: 27th of April
• Round four: 4th of May
• Round five + semi-finals: 11th of May
• Grand final: 18th of May
Just like previous weeks, the meeting will begin with about 45 minutes of training, before roll call at 6.20.
If you'd like to participate in this competition, you will need to register online through this very ugly form. You can either register with friends (there must be at least four people in each team, so we may add others if you register with less), or as an individual, and we'll put you in a team. Don't feel that you need to rush - registration will close on Saturday the 10th of April (about two weeks from now).
For those of you who've been in MUDS for a while, you'll be pleased to know that this year's competition will have no novice rule. This means that there are no restrictions on who you can debate with! There will, however, still be an adjudication rule - those who are 'experienced' (i.e. anyone who has debated or adjudicated at a Worlds, an Australs, or more than one Easters) must adjudicate at least once in order for their team to break.
So start thinking about who you'd like to debate with, and don't forget to register. If you have any questions, please email Rachael and James at internal.competitions@mudsonline.net.
