Sydney Novice Invitational

The Sydney Novice Invitational is a tournament co-hosted by The University of Sydney and UTS. It is a novice tournament in British Parliamentary Style to be held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August, 2005.

All university students who have not debated at Worlds are welcome to debate at the tournament. Everybody is encouraged to come along to adjudicate, regardless of experience. The tournament will include a demonstration debate, four rounds of debates and a Grand Final. The registration fee is capped at $50 for debaters and $40 for adjudicators, payable on the Saturday. Registration covers debating/adjudicating, food, drinks, prizes and a social event on the Saturday night, which involves watching the first Bledisloe Cup match on a big screen, dinner and a substantial bar tab.

Accomodation and travel arrangeements are up to you, but if a  bunch of people are interested, we can probably find some sort of accomodation and/or travel arrangements that will be cheaper if there is a group.

Chat about it on the forum, or email the committee with any queries to mudsonline@gmail.com.  Alternatively, If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Amanda Isouard  from Sydney (amanda_isouard@student.usyd.edu.au) or Katie Price  from UTS (Katherine.Price@student.uts.edu.au), who are the lovely organisers of this tournament.
