Welcome to the Melbourne University
Debating Society.
Established in 1876, the Melbourne University Debating Society (affectionately known as 'MUDS') is one of Australia's oldest and most successful debating institutions, working to promote and encourage debating in all its forms.
To do this, we meet twice a week at 6.15 pm on Tuesdays and at 6.00 pm on Thursdays for Internals and Workshops respectively.
Additionally, we send teams to a wide range of national and international tournaments, including the World University Debating Championship (WUDC), the Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championship (Australs), the Australasian Wom*n’s Debating Championship (Wom*n's) and the Australian Debating Championship (Easter's).
